4th of July (a week late)

I absolutely love the 4th of July. It's my second favorite holiday; Thanksgiving barely beats it. I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the people who gave their lives for the liberty we enjoy. I really am 'proud to be an American'. Sure, America isn't perfect but I still feel priviledged to be able to have the freedoms that so many people in other parts of the world only dream about. On a lighter note... I love the warm, July sun, the bright colors, the fun festivities, and of course, the fireworks.

We went to the 4th of July parade in Flagstaff and then headed down to Mesa to have a BBQ and swim with family and then watch fireworks. It was Eliana's first time seeing fireworks and she LOVED everything about them. She can't stop talking about the "sparkly magic" and how she had to "cover the ears." It was such a fun weekend!
